Fathima is a fifth-year political science Ph.D. candidate. Before coming to IU she worked as a civics education coordinator for Transparency Maldives and as a political and economic analyst for the U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka. Fathimas interests are in political economy. She studies transformations of the state in emerging markets in an increasingly financialized global economy. Fathima graduated from Williams College, M.A. in 2009 with a B.A. in political science.
