Why do some individuals and groups resort to the use of terror? Does terrorism work? If so, under what conditions? How is money laundering and drug trafficking sometimes linked to terror networks? Why do some states sponsor terrorist groups and offer them sanctuaries? What counter-terrorism strategies have worked best? These are some of the principal issues that this course will cover. All students will be expected to take a mid-term and a final examination.
