Sierra Wiese is from Jeffersonville, Indiana. She is pursuing a Political Science major and a Political and Civic Engagement certificate. As a Cox Research Scholar, she has been involved with research at Indiana University in the Political Science department since her freshman year. Her research has been centralized around the topic of Gerrymandering, and her honors thesis is titled, “Measuring the Effect of Redistricting Systems on Gerrymandering.” She has presented her research at the 2019 Midwest Political Science Association Conference and the 2019 Conference of the Society for Political Methodology. IPAW has been an excellent fit for Sierra. She has been afforded the opportunity to learn the appropriate methodology necessary to elevate her research to the next level. She is currently going through the process of applying to graduate school.
