Christian earned a B.A. in Law (University of Guayaquil, Ecuador) and a MA in Political Science (University of Chile). He has been a full time professor at University of Guayaquil, where he taught courses on the Theory of the State, Public Law, and Human Rights. Christian won a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship to attend our program. Among his many interests are modern political thought, the history of political ideas, democratic theory, and legal theory. He has already researched the political thinkers Carl Schmitt and John Rawls as a way of helping to understand enduring conflicts in his country, the limits of political pluralism, and the tendency to moralize political adversaries throughout Latin America. Christian enjoys science fiction novels, spending time with his family, and playing soccer and tennis with friends.
