Joohyun joined the Ph.D. program in the Department of Political Science at Indiana University in the fall of 2023. Her research interest lies in the field of international security, with a regional interest in South and Northeast Asia. She is particularly interested in border conflicts between nuclear states.
Joohyun graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, South Korea, with a B.A. in Hindi and Political Science and an M.A. in Political Science. During her study as an M.A. candidate, she participated in a number of conferences, including the 79th MPSA in 2022, and presented her research papers.
In her free time, Joohyun enjoys traveling alone and trying out new sports.
