Xeniya Kryakvina is a Graduate Student at the Department of Political Science at IU. She received her bachelor’s degree at the Department of International Relations at Suleyman Demirel University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and her Master’s degree at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Nazarbayev University, Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. Xeniya’s main research interest is migration studies, particularly the investigation of patterns of functioning of ethnic repatriation programs in the post-Soviet region. Xeniya’s current projects are focused on investigating patterns of integration of ethnic repatriates in Kazakhstan. Before joining her graduate studies at IU, Xeniya has been working as a Senior Instructor at the International Relations Program at Suleyman Demirel University, Almaty. Besides, she took an active part in research projects sponsored by Soros Kazakhstan, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, etc., where she worked on topics related to migration, identity building, and hate speech.
