Department of Political Science

Soyoung is a first-year Ph.D. student in Political Science at Indiana University Bloomington. Her research interests center on oppositions in authoritarian regimes, with a regional focus on Asia. Her master’s thesis explored the causes of post-election protests, with particular attention to leadership change in authoritarian regimes. She received her B.A. and M.A. in International Relations from the University of Tokyo.
