As a dual Ph.D. student in Political Science and Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures, I specialize in international relations and comparative politics, with a particular emphasis on the states and societies of the Arab Middle East. My research primarily focuses on contemporary politics in the Arab Gulf monarchies.
Before joining Indiana University, I completed a double major in Political Science & International Relations and Islamic Studies at İstanbul Şehir University in Türkiye. I also took part in an exchange program at Keele University's International Relations department in the UK and attended an intensive Arabic summer program in Jordan. During my undergraduate years, I conducted field research across various Middle Eastern countries. After graduation, I worked as a research assistant at a think tank in Ankara, focusing on Middle Eastern affairs.
