Kate earned her B.S. in International Studies from Indiana University, where she specialized in human rights and international law. After graduation, she worked with refugees and asylum seekers for two years under a Fulbright grant in Lyon, France. She spent one year in Ghana with an organization dedicated to strengthening the public justice system and protecting people in poverty from violence. Her research interests include forced migration, security, post-colonial politics, Indian politics, and refugee policy in India. She is the Managing Editor of International Studies Review.
