Nicolas Bichay

Nicolas Bichay is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Indiana University, where he teaches courses on democracy, comparative politics, and research methodology. He received his Ph.D. in political science from Michigan State University in 2021.

Nicolas’s area of research centers on democracy and democratic backsliding, populism, radical parties, and political economy. His primary research focuses on the rise and rule of radical-right and populist parties in Europe, analyzing both how they come to power, and the real-world effects of their governance.

Noah R. Eber-Schmid

Professor Eber-Schmid is Assistant Professor of political theory in the Department of Political Science at Indiana University. He received his PhD in political science at Rutgers University and his MA in politics at New York University.

His research and teaching are focused on the areas of American political thought, contemporary democratic theory, and the history of modern political thought, with an emphasis on political extremism, the people, and the contested limits of democratic political practices.

Michael Weinman

Michael Weinman is excited to be joining the Department of Political Science as a Senior Lecturer, beginning August 1, 2023. Weinman (Ph.D. in Philosophy, New School for Social Research, 2005) is an interdisciplinary scholar and teacher whose interests focus on ancient Greek thought, modern Jewish thought, and the history of political thought, as well as the intersections of these three fields.
