Hans Li graduated from New York University in Spring 2023, majoring in Global Liberal Studies and Politics. He studied away in Washington D.C. for his freshman year, and in Shanghai for his junior year. In his senior year, Hans Li wrote his senior thesis titled “Liberty as the Primary Good: A National Identity for the Multicultural State.”

During his undergraduate studies, Hans Li critically engaged with thinkers such as Jürgen Habermas, John Rawls, and Carl Schmitt, laying the foundation for his doctoral studies in liberal political theory and multiculturalism.
Harold Chambers specializes in comparative politics and IR, researching the intersection of power, identity, and violence in Central Eurasia and Southeast Asia. Before coming to Bloomington, Harold studied Russian language and culture at Williams College before pursuing an Erasmus Mundus International Masters on Central Eurasian Studies in Estonia, Scotland, and Georgia.
Harold has also been working as a freelance analyst, focusing on the political and security dynamics of the North Caucasus, particularly in the context of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. When not working, he is probably in the library finding fascinating books that he really intends to read next.
My name is Hyunjik Jeong. I earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Korea University and a master's degree in political science from Seoul National University. My main field is political philosophy, and I am interested in contemporary political theory, democratic theory, political subjectivation, and civil disobedience.
Joohyun joined the Ph.D. program in the Department of Political Science at Indiana University in the fall of 2023. Her research interest lies in the field of international security, with a regional interest in South and Northeast Asia. She is particularly interested in border conflicts between nuclear states.
Joohyun graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, South Korea, with a B.A. in Hindi and Political Science and an M.A. in Political Science. During her study as an M.A. candidate, she participated in a number of conferences, including the 79th MPSA in 2022, and presented her research papers.
In her free time, Joohyun enjoys traveling alone and trying out new sports.
Inwoo received a B.A. in Political Science and Economics and an M.A. in Political Science from Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea. His research mainly focuses on digital technologies and their impact on politics. He hypothesized that data emerged as a new resource due to the digital transformation by GPT (General Purpose Technology). His article develops a theoretical framework for how the technological revolution reshapes international relations among nations and explained the dynamics of the current US-China conflict based on data governance.
His research interests are information technology and politics, international security, US-China relations, East Asia, and middle power strategy. However, he plans to research such fields with new arenas that emerged from the technological revolution.
Anna graduated from the University of Louisville with a BA in Asian Studies and a MA in Political Science. She is studying American Politics with an interest in political behavior and media framing.
