Mike Wagner has been awarded the Helen Firstbrook Franklin Professor endowed chair at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Wagner also directs the Center for Communication and Civic Renewal, is associate editor of Public Opinion Quarterly and the editor of Political Communication's Forum. One of our department’s most successful recent alumni, he worked under the supervision of Ted Carmines and earned his Ph.D. from Indiana University in 2006. He served on the faculties of the University of Delaware and the University of Nebraska before joining the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2012.
Alumni Spotlight
In early November 2023, Mike returned to IU to give a lecture on his current work as rapporteur for the US 2020 Election Project, a collaboration between Meta and 17 U.S.-based academic researchers studying Facebook and Instagram’s influence on the 2020 presidential election.
