This April, IU Political Science Professor Vanessa Cruz Nichols received the Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) Early Career Award through the Latina/o Caucus.The event took place in Chicago. She was handed the award by Mara Ostfeld, the Vice President of the Caucus, and Vanessa's Michigan mentors, Vincent Hutchings and John Garcia.
Professor Vanessa Cruz Nichols was also recently quoted in a news piece through the Associated Press. Her quotes have been featured in U.S. News & World Report, Yahoo!, and the Boston Globe.
