The IU Center on American Politics, directed by Steven Webster, hosted its inaugural conference on October 31, 2025. The conference brought together scholars of ideology, political behavior, the presidency, and race and politics, for a day-long event on the Bloomington campus. The conference also served as a tribute to the late Ted Carmines, a legendary figure in the study of American politics. Speakers included Mike Wagner (Wisconsin), Marc Hetherington (North Carolina), Josh McCrain (Utah), Steven Webster (Indiana), Julia Azari (Marquette), Rachel Lienesch (Indiana), Rachel Porter (Notre Dame), and Sean Westwood (Dartmouth).
