Honors Program

The Political Science Honors program

Political Science offers an Honors program for outstanding undergraduate students who wish to undertake original research and writing under the direction of a faculty sponsor.

The program is designed to guide you in advanced scholarly work, culminating in a project that must be orally defended before two department members.

To be considered for the program, you must have an overall grade point average of 3.3 in university courses. You must also have completed at least 9 hours in Political Science courses, including one 300-level course, and hold a 3.5 grade point average in Political Science courses. Typically, students meet the requirements for application at the beginning of their junior year, but you can apply at the end of their sophomore year.
