Department of Political Science

The Indiana Model UN sponsors a yearly conference at Indiana University, co-sponsored by the Department of Political science, in which high school students from around the state take the role of different nations, research an assigned topic, discuss it in committees, and then come together to create solutions and draft resolution documents. Last year, almost 400 students participated. Several IUB undergraduates, under the supervision of Professor Dina Spechler, talked with interested students about pursuing a major in Political Science at Indiana University and about other topics of mutual interest. The conference is designed to help students develop skills in negotiation, networking, public speaking, professional writing, and research. This year's conference will be held in February 2019.
