We are pleased to announce the creation of a new PPE Minor. PPE programs, designed around the core disciplines of Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics, are an internationally recognized and growing movement in research and education. PPE is one of the fastest-growing degrees and has become a training ground for political and business leaders around the world. The high-quality, interdisciplinary program equips students with the skills and knowledge to understand and analyze the political and economic institutions of the 21st century, both in the US and globally.
Students admitted to the PPE minor must complete a gateway course before taking three electives courses that can be selected from specified subsets of courses in Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics. The PPE Minor will begin in the Spring 2025 with L 260 (taught by Professor Aurelian Craiutu (Political Science) in collaboration with faculty from Philosophy. There will also be a capstone seminar (L 460) at the end, a senior-level experience in which students work on a research project in close consultation with at least one faculty member. There is also a new PPE Society created by students, who will complement the PPE Minor.
Students must first apply to the program. The deadline for applications is October 4. There will be a PPE student call-out meeting on Monday September 16, 5-7 pm, in Hodge Hall (Kelley School of Business), Room 2049.
